About us
Water Justice Day, an initiative of the Water Justice Hub, is an annual event held on January 31. Created to complement other global water observances, such as World Water Day and World Rivers Day, Water Justice Day is distinct in its primary focus on advancing water justice. This day is dedicated to highlighting the challenges and inequalities surrounding water access, rights, and governance, with the aim of fostering collaborative, justice-centered solutions worldwide. While Water Justice Day serves as an annual event, its impact extends far beyond a single day. The Water Justice Hub envisions supporting water justice initiatives year-round, advocating for meaningful change across communities and regions globally. Water Justice Day is a call to action for equitable water rights and a platform for collective learning and collaboration, driven by a shared commitment to justice in water access and governance. sssOur goal is to cultivate a global network of like-minded researchers, advocates, and stakeholders committed to the ongoing pursuit of water justice. Water Justice Day will include worldwide participation through hybrid connections, enabling people from multiple locations to join discussions, share insights, and collaborate on justice-centered water initiatives. The primary event will be hosted in Canberra, serving as a hub for these global connections.
